A neighborhood taverna

“We’ve always had a sense of community involvement. Essentially, that’s what this is. I asked myself: What can we provide that the community needs, right now? We are calling this a Taverna because we wanted to create a place that is approachable and where all feel welcome. We hope to see people multiple times per week.”

— ANTONIO LAUDISIO

The Table

Simple, hearty cooking. Local wine. Everyone welcome.

In the old tradition, a taverna was where travelers stopped to eat and drink — wooden tables, a good pour, and food built on what the season offers. That is the spirit here: house-made pasta, antipasti to share, and a wine list meant for drinking with dinner, not studying.

Come often. Stay for a glass. Bring the whole table.

The Kitchen

Executive Chef Justin Hirshfield

We are thrilled to have Executive Chef Justin Hirshfield — originally from Ristorante Laudisio and then 1914 House — working with Antonio once again at Taverna Laudisio.

“The original Ristorante Laudisio is where I got my start as a chef. Antonio took a chance on me when I was 16 years old and he and his chefs showed me the ropes. This is a full circle moment for me!”

— JUSTIN HIRSHFIELD, EXECUTIVE CHEF

Since 1989

Three decades of feeding Boulder County

Antonio opened Ristorante Laudisio in 1989 and followed with The Med in 1993, each introducing a unique dining experience to Boulder County. Both restaurants were the first of their kind locally and have not been replicated since their openings. Though they are no longer operating, they remain beloved and fondly missed by the community.
